LIBRARY NEWSLETTER

Welcome back everyone, and a warm welcome to our new Year 7s!

No doubt many of you read the new Harry Potter book over the summer holidays, but for those of you who have yet to read the sixth book in the series, we have several copies to borrow in the school library.   Don’t forget, the new film based on the Goblet of Fire is due for release in November.   Also, talking about films, how about going to see the  Jane Austen classic “Pride and Prejudice”?   It’s out in cinemas now.

Now, for all you Darren Shan fans who were devastated at the end of his vampire series, there is great news!   We have copies of his new book Lord Loss.   I, personally, could not put it down.   So, let the Vampires finish….let the Demonata begin!

Other additions to our shelves are:

The Wee Free Men by Terry PRATCHETT (for humorous fantasy fans)

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank BEDDOR ( a new take on Alice in Wonderland)

Ark Angel by Anthony HOROWITZ (Alex Rider is back)

Night’s Child by Cate TIERNAN ( an addition to the Wicca series)

Toad Triumphant by William HORWOOD (More Wind in the Willows fun)

The Magic Shop Series by Bruce COVILLE

El Dorado by Jenny OLDFIELD ( for horse lovers)

Love Match by Robert WESTALL (romantic short stories)

Wolf, Torn Ear & Elephant Ben by Geoffrey MALONE (all about wild animals)

The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips (the story of an intrepidcat during World War 2)

As you are aware, we carry copies of the Horrible Histories magazines.   These always had to be read in the library before, but due to popular demand, these may now be borrowed like books.
